Hi, all paintings are original and painted on good quality box canvas. I mainly use acrylic paint, but sometimes add a little ink or charcoal to the painting to give a little extra depth is the painting should require it. I would say my style of painting is abstract expressionism although I’ve had one critic term is as impressionism although abstract, the paintings still have subject matter and this is often a corrosive battle between urban and rural dominance, this probably come from where I live – right on the edge of the urban sprawl. Here are some of my previous paintings. Most of these are paintings on canvas with acrylic. I’ll admit it’s quite an eclectic mix of painting styles, but they are all original and I was doing a lot of experimenting, trying to find my style of painting. I think I’m still looking though I know I’m getting close. Have a look. I quite often get asked to reproduce some of these paintings, but be warned, they will never be exactly the same.

My watercolour paintings are a new direction for me as I normally use acrylic on canvas, but I felt that the canvas paintings though an excellent medium to work in could always show the emotion and unpredictability of watercolours. Thus was born the notebook watercolour series in which I would fill a whole notebook with various watercolour paintings and mount them. Of course I have some larger watercolours, especially the likes of the Butterfly which is currently on show at The Cooper Gallery in Barnsley.

Commissioned paintings are available on request. I consider most enquiries, but I will keep to my style of art. For example if someone were to ask me to produce a painting of their house or family I would paint these in my style which is generally considered abstract impressionism. Commissioned paintings usually work on the client giving me some idea of the type of painting they would like by using previous examples of my work and then specifying colours. I will even work from commercial paint ranges such as Dulux or Crown and will happily get samples produced however a deposit is required for this.
